نقوش تحاكي الروح....من مرآة الزمن

يمثل هذا العمل الفني نافذة تطل على تراث حضرموت العريق، المحفور في الحجر منذ قرون، والمحفوظ في الأخشاب منذ العصر الإسلامي. تُبرز النقوش المنحوتة في المحاريب والمنابر، الأبواب والنوافذ، والأعمدة التي ترتفع كالمسلات لتحكي عبق الزمان، وروحانيته وجماله.

في مركز المشهد تظهر المرأة الحضرمية فوق الرحى، تطحن في انسجام تجريدي مع أدواتها. عينٌ تلمع من برقع الأصالة والحشمة، وأخرى هي انعكاس لعين المدقّ (المنحاز) في رمزية بديعة توحي بالعطاء والقوة. تحمل على كتفها سلّة تمر، وتزيّن معصمها وعنقها حُليّ فضية تقليدية.

إلى جانبها دلو البئر الجلدي، وقربة الماء على الكتف، و"رحل الدابة" الخشبي المحمّل بالمؤن. وتُمسك بمقبض الرحى بينما يظهر خلفها "البخاري" — إبريق محلي يُسخَّن بالجمر — يسكب منه الماء مع الشاي في فناجين رقيقة.

وفوق الإبريق تتربع "الكعدة" ذات الدرجات الثلاث، وعليها أدوات قهوة البن.

وفي الزاوية السفلية اليمنى يظهر "الأقليد" (المفتاح الخشبي التقليدي) مع فتحة موضعه المدوّرة بجانب "السدة" (بوابة المنزل)، تعلوها نقوش خشبية متناثرة تنفذ من خلالها خيوط ضوء خفيفة، تُبرز ملامح البيت الحضرمي الأصيل.

Engravings that Echo the Soul… Reflections from the Mirror of Time

This artwork offers a window into the rich heritage of Hadramout—carvings etched into stone for centuries and preserved in woodwork since the Islamic era. The engraved mihrabs and pulpits, the doors and windows, and the towering columns that rise like obelisks all recount the fragrance of time, its spirituality, and its beauty.

At the center of the scene stands the Hadrami woman above the rahā (millstone), grinding in an abstract harmony with her tools. One eye gleams from behind the veil of modesty and tradition, while the other reflects the inner eye of the middaq (wooden mortar) in a symbolic gesture of strength and giving. She carries a basket of dates on her shoulder, adorned with traditional silver jewelry around her neck and wrists.

Beside her rests the leather well bucket, the water skin placed across the shoulder, and the wooden saddle (raḥl al-dābbah) loaded with provisions. She holds the millstone handle, while behind her the bukhāri—a local brass kettle heated with embers—pours water and tea into delicate cups.

Above the kettle sits the k‘addah, a three-tiered wooden stand used for preparing coffee, with vessels arranged neatly upon it.

In the lower right corner appears the aqleed (the traditional wooden key) alongside its round keyhole near the saddah (the household gate). Scattered above it are carved wooden motifs through which soft beams of light pass, revealing the features of the authentic Hadrami home.
