The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore is one of the top encyclopedic museums in the U.S., showcasing art from ancient civilizations to the 19th century. Founded on the private collection of William and Henry Walters, it opened to the public in 1934. The museum is known for its rare manuscripts, sculptures, and global artifacts. Its significance to Hadramout comes from its important Yemeni and Hadrami pieces—especially manuscripts, jewelry, and archaeological objects—that help preserve and present Hadramout’s cultural heritage to an international audience.
